  • London Wetland Centre: 2 adult Little Ringed Plover & one very mobile chick, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Common Snipe, 1 eclipse drake Garganey, 1 imm. male Sparrowhawk, 2 terrapins (1 Red-eared Slider and the other a Yellow-bellied Turtle) (Martin Honey).
  • Lower Chingford: 7 Little Egret, Common Sandpiper (James Palmer)
  • Osterley Park: 37+ Black-headed Gull, 7 Egyptian Goose (4 chicks), 3 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Green Woodpecker, 3 Grey Heron, Greylag Goose, Herring Gull, 17+ Jackdaw, Kingfisher flying along middle lake, 9 Mandarin, 12+ Mistle Thrush, 2 Pochard, 2 Shoveler, 2+ Ring-necked Parakeet, With great sadness I found a dead Barn Owl during the day. I contacted the park ranger & we had a look at the bird. It looked like it had been dead for a couple of days but had no obvious signs of injury. What a terrible shame (Richard Woolley).
  • Regent's Park/Primrose Hill: 11 Swift, c4 House Martin, 3+ Willow Warbler, Garden Warbler, Whitethroat (RPBirders); escaped Green_Peafowl flew E across Holford Field - seen 5+ times in last 2wks (park user per RPBirders)

  • Vicarage Farm, Enfield: 5 Spotted Flycatcher pr & three juveniles (Robert Callf)
  • Walthamstow Marsh: Sparrowhawk, about 10 House Martin, small flock of Long-tailed Tit, about 40 Starling, Jersey Tiger moth (Michael Rank)
  • Wanstead Flats: Pied Flycatcher (probably Thursday's bird, in trees by school on west side of flats, north of the two tower blocks) performed well during the rain but not seen subsequenty (Dan Hennessy), Little Owl, 7+ Lesser Whitethroat, 25+ Common Whitethroat (including a very pale bird), 2 Willow Warbler, 15+ Chiffchaff, 20+ House Martin, 4 Swift, Teal, 5 Gadwall, 3 Pochard, Egyptian Goose, 7 Little Grebe, Kestrel, 5 Mistle Thrush (Nick Croft)

  • London Wetland Centre Peregrine on Charing Cross Hospital, 1 Common Sandpiper and 1 Common Snipe main lake, 1 Kingfisher sheltered lagoon, 1 adult Little Ringed Plover (main lake) plus 1 adult (wader scrape) but only 1 chick seen - did anyone see any more?, plus a pristine Jersey Tiger from an overnight mothing session (Martin Honey). Only 1 LRP chick seen 10-12 noon (Nick S)
  • Loudwater nr Rickmansworth: Marsh Tit Loudwater Farm (Sanderson Topham per Herts BC)
  • Pinner: Starling with leg-ring on feeder again. This bird has been around for a couple of years. No way of finding out what's on the ring is there? (Richard Francis).
  • Rainham Marshes RSPB: Whimbrel, Redshank flushed by dog walker Aveley Bay also 4 Oystercatchers, Common Seal, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, Snipe Purfleet Scrape, also 6+ Little Egrets reserve and 10+ Swallows, 8+ Meadow Pipits (Bob Watts)
