A regular visitor to the southern coasts of the UK in late summer with occasional records elsewhere.

  • 1984: Island Barn Res (Surrey), one on August 17th (LBR 56, Hardwick and Self).

This appears to be the only time this species has been seen alive inland in the UK, the other inland record being of a bird picked up dead in Kent in about 1865.
