Is there a particular part of the Eastern end of the lake that the Kingfisher favours? [Ian Strickland] Hello Ian. Watch from the south side of the Lake (though I have infrequently seen the bird from the north side) looking across to Duck Island. Positioning yourself next to the information board gives you a good view of the opening behind the Tiffany Fountain where it often perches & waiting next to the Plane Tree east of that board gives you a very good view of a most favoured perch. Check the Willow to the west (where it was today) & the fence along the perimeter where it can be easy to see while in inclement weather it can be tucked in anywhere around there. I've seldom seen it east of the Fountain. It can be found on occasion at the western end of the Lake at the reedbed or nearby Willows & very occasionally in a Willow on the north side of the Lake too. I hope that this helps. Good luck [Frank Nugent].
