  • Richmond Park: Hobby over Lower Pen Ponds at 6:30pm, catching dragonfly eating them on the wing - then hunting acrobatically low over the bracken north of the ponds (TWHV)
  • Rotherhithe: Yellow-legged Gull 3rd-summer on River Thames east of Greenland Pier late a'noon; also Sand Martin visiting nest hole by River Thames adjacent to Convoys Wharf, 100+ Herring Gulls, 15 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Common Tern Greenland Dock (Richard Bonser)

  • Brent Reservoir: adult Mediterranean Gull on Northern Marsh until 1300 then flew, 5 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Green Sandpiper, 5 Lapwing, 1 Greylag Goose. Marbled Whites & Ringlets (Frank Nugent).
  • Clapham High Street: Red Kite being mobbed by crow over rail station (J. Limb)
  • East India Dock Basin: 1 Little Ringed Plover, Little Grebe juv, 4+ Common Tern chicks on raft +c16 adults, 1 Shelduck, 30+ Tufted Duck, singing Reed Warbler, singing Blackcap, c4 Sand Martin, Grey Wagtail (Charlie Farrell)
  • Ingrebourne Valley, Hornchurch Country Park and Ingrebourne Hill: 40 species located. Some 100 Common Swift and 80 House Martin over the parklands. f. Hobby actively stooping at Common Swifts over the hay cutting at Albyns Farm. Swifts cluster up in defence & none caught, . 1 m Kestrel perched watching for prey in the cut hay, 1 Cetti's Warbler, widespread Reed Warblers and 4 singing Reed Buntings in Ingrebourne Marshes, 18 Lapwings and family groups of Mallard Duck, Coot and Moorhen throughout marshes, 30 Canada Geese, 10 Greylag Geese and a pair of ad. Mute Swans with 7 well grown cygnets (from one brood?) at Albyns Farm Lake, A pair of GC Grebes displaying, a Little Grebe calling and 12 Tufted Ducks on Stillness Lake, Whitethroats and Blackcaps and 1 Garden Warbler sing in the treeplantations, m Pheasant Low Field Wood, 3 Skylarks singing Ingrebourne Hill, 2 Weasels..   • London Wetland Centre: (pm visit): Stock Dove, sub-adult Great Creasted Grebe, pair of Little Grebe with 2 chicks, pair nesting LRP plus one additional adult, one of two large Lapwing chicks, numerous fledged Black-headed Gulls, several pairs Common Tern with young and sitting, singing Cetti's, Chiffchaff and Garden Warblers, numerous family groups of Reed Warbler. Comma, Red Admiral, Brimstone, Small and Essex Skippers, Meadow Brown butterflies (Martin Honey), adult Mediterranean Gull (WWT website).
  • Middlesex Filter Beds: 2 Cetti's Warblers, 1 adult 2 juvenile Willow Warblers (Sue Barry)

  • Bentley Priory: there has been a second brood of Mandarins at Summer House Lake in Bentley Priory. No sign of them on the ponds in Little Common Stanmore. (Margaret Huitson per DT)
  • Brookmill Park: Kingfisher, Swift, Chiffchaff, 3 Blackcap, 3 House Sparrow, A pair of Tufted Duck drifted in with the tide 5 pm something of a rarity in the park.(Conrad Ellam)
  • Chiswick Mall: Hobby circling over small House Martin colony on houses; 10 of latter above Hobby; Hobby went into dive but missed; also juv Grey Wagtail (Neil Anderson)
  • London Wetland Centre: juv Little Egret, 2 male Ruddy Duck, female Mandarin, one young Pochard, 1st- summer Hobby with missing inner primaries in left wing hunting low over marsh, juv Kestrel, juv male Sparrowhawk hunting Starlings, 3 Little Ringed Plover- nesting pair & a juv, 30 Lapwing including 2 juvs & 2 young, Common Tern 5 broods of 8 young & a sitting pair, 147 Black-headed Gull 115 adults + 32 juvs, 2 male Kingfisher together, 3 Pied Wagtail ad + 2 juvs- 2nd brood (J.Wilczur)
  • Pinner Park Farm: 5 Red Kite, 2 Common Buzzard, Hobby, 3 Rook, 195 Jackdaw, 9 Stock Dove, 3 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 28 Swift, Mistle Thrush, Jay, Black-headed Gull (Jon Ridge).
  • Swanley Park : 2 newborn Moorhen chicks appeared from same tree nest 2nd brood,, 1 week after previous 2 were predated, female continued incubating whilst male fed first 2 chicks until killed (Andy Meaton)
  • Thorney CP: Buzzard over, 2 Kestrels, Green Woodpecker, 3 Chiffchaff, 4 Pochards, 3 Jays, 14 Common Terns with at least 8 juvs, 2 Great Crested Grebes & juvs, Common Whitethroat, 3 Stock Doves, Grey Heron (Sue Giddens)
