  • Barnes Wildfowl and Wetland Trust: Nightjar hawking along bank near Peacock Tower in the evening (Birdguides).

  • Wormwood Scrubs: 1 Yellow Wagtail, c3 Willow Warbler, c8 Chiffchaff, c3 Lesser Whitethroat, c2 Whitethroat, 1 male Reed Bunting (extremely scarce here) & 2 Meadow Pipit. (David Lindo & Roy Nuttall).

  • Rainham Marshes RSPB: juv Red-backed Shrike at western end of seawall, near tip (RBA).Still present at 4.40pm.(Dave Morrison)... and showing well at 1930 around buddleia bushes on seaward side of seawall (David Bradnum, Martin Blow).
  • Walthamstow Reservoirs: juv Dunlin, male Wheatear, 8 Com Sands, 4 Whitethroats, 10 Chiffchaffs, 2 W Warblers (1 singing), 2 Little Egrets, Pheasant, 2 Kingfishers, 30 Com Terns (David Callahan). 12 Common Sandpipers, 2 little Egrets, 5 Sand Martins, 2 Swallows, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 4 Stock Doves all on Lockwood p.m. (Paul Whiteman)
  • Fairlop Waters: Spotted Flycatcher, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Whitethroat, House Martins & Swallows (Brendan Spooner)

  • Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens: 3 Egyptian Goose, 1 Wigeon (eclipse), 'Yellow-legged' Gull, 2 Green Woodpecker, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Song Thrush, 15 Pied Wagtail, 7 Greenfinch, 3 Blackcap, 2 Goldcrest (Paul Bruty).
  • E2, Kingsland Rd: 1 Swift.
  • Jamaica Rd, Bermondsey: Common Buzzard east at 12.32pm,also 3 Sparrowhawks up at the same time and 2 Swifts through.(Dave Morrison)
  • Tate Modern/ Bankside: Dragonfly sp round back of Tate modern unusual for Central London. (Alan Lewis) - Migrant Hawkers were frequently seen here in the early 2000's (David Darrell-Lambert).

  • Walthamstow Reservoirs: juv Dunlin, 19 Com Sands, 2 Little Egrets, Peregrine, Lesser Whitethroat, 13 Teal, 4 Gadwall, 30 Shoveler; no hirundines/swifts left; Com Terns now down to about 60% of their recent numbers (David Callahan).
  • East India Dock NR: 2 Yellow Legged Gull (7:10am Low Tide. One on north foreshore, 1 on the south foreshore - took my scope this time). Also on south foreshore 5 GBB Gull, 30+ LBB Gull, c150 BH Gull, 19 Herring Gull, 1 Common Gull, 8 Heron, 3 Cormorant (J Lethbridge).
  • Wormwood Scrubs: 1 Whinchat, c20 Blackcap, 1 Garden Warbler, c10 Whitethroat, c6 Willow Warbler, c10 Chiffchaff, 2 Meadow Pipit & c12 Swallow heading NW. (David Lindo)

  • Hackney Marshes: Little Egret feeding with Grey Heron on Old River Lea, 2 Kingfisher, 6 Teal + 12+ Mistle Thrush (Neil Anderson)
  • Brent Reservoir: 2 Common Redstarts in front of bunds & 3 Common Sands (Andrew Self & Roy Beddard)
  • Alexandra Park: Whinchat (perched briefly before continuing migration), 33 Swallows mainly northwest or northeast, 80+ House Martins, 3 Whitethroat (Bob Watts, Andrew Gardener). Just south of park Hobby flew over Nightingale Lane towards Crouch End at 1510 then over Alexandra Park at 1530. Yellow Wagtail north over Nightingale Lane towards Alexandra Park at 1540 (Bob Watts).
  • South Norwood Lake: 2 Mute Swan, 1 Grey Heron, 15 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Herring Gulls, 5 Mistle Thrush, 3 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Nuthatch, 7 Ring-necked Parakeet, 12 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Coal Tit (John Watson).
  • Wetlands Centre: Goshawk flew NW at 12.30pm, also 3 Red-crested Pochards, 2 Yellow Wagtails and a Hobby. (RBA).

  • Rainham Marshes RSPB: Great Skua west 0828, Arctic Skua west 0857, both upriver Thames, the former at height (Dave Morrison and Dave Smith)Also 162 Common Terns up river, 3 Sandwich Terns, 14 Black Terns, juv Little Tern, Grey Plover, 3 Knot, Black Tailed Godwit, Curlew, 5 Common sands, Greenshank, Bullfinch, 29 Ringed Plover, Hobby, 6 Dunlin and 20 Swift.( Dave Smith and Dave Morrison)
  • Queen Elizabeth II Reservoir: Spotted Redshank and Greenshank (Birdguides)
  • East India Dock NR: 2 Common Sandpiper, 2 Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, Great Tits, Blue Tits, 2 Pied Wagtail. Most warblers in corner under DLR (Paul Hyland). Also Blackbird and 2 Greenfinch (m&f) under DLR. There is a old tyre buried in the ground that collects water, and the birds use this for bathing. Crow, Magpie, Little Grebe, LBB, BH Gull, Teal, plus usual Tufties, Mallards and Canada Goose, and some terns (prob common) over (J Lethbridge)
  • Walthamstow Reservoirs: 2 Black Terns, Oystercatcher (S), Lapwing (N), 3 Wheatears, Green Sand, 4 Little Egrets, 20 Com Sands, ad Peregrine (No3 pylon), imm & 2W GbbGull, intermedius LbbGull, 6 Teal, 13 Shoveler, 4 Gadwall, 90 Common Terns, 165+ Sand Martins, 170+ Swifts, 20 House Martins, 430+ Starlings, W Warbler, Chiffchaff, Collared Dove, Black Swan (David Callahan).
  • Walthamstow & Leyton Marsh: 2 Sparrowhawks, 2 Sedge Warblers. 3 Whinchats in Cow field, singing Reed Warbler, Willow Warbler and Blackcap all in large mixed Warbler, Tit, Finch flock by Marina. Upwards of 200 Swifts and a couple of House Martins over the Filter Beds until the weather brightened. 13 Yellow Wagtails in Horse paddock, all flew off to Cow field.(Paul Whiteman) Walth.   • Barking Outfall: early a.m, high tide: 12 Common Sandpipers, 6 Oystercatchers, 40 Swifts south, 2 Teal, Grey Wagtail and 3 Common Terns (Dave Morrison).
  • Dagenham Riverside: Common Sandpiper, Kingfisher, 2 Oystercatchers and 2 Common Terns (Dave Morrison).
  • Alexandra Park: Reed Warbler am Cons Pond (Andrew Gardener), Kingfisher, 3 Swifts, 2 Little Grebe pm (Bob Watts).

  • Amwell GPs: juvenile Common Redstart at south end of towpath; also Black-tailed Godwit briefly also 2 Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper and Hobby (Birdguides)
  • Staines Moor: 3 Whinchats, 1 adult and 2 juvs in South West corner near motorway (John Murray).
  • Crossness: 3 Yellow-legged Gulls (2 ads, juv), 2 Green Sandpipers, 4 Common Sandpipers, 58 Lapwings, 1 Shoveler, 5 Teal, 9 Gadwall, 1 Common Tern (John Archer).
  • Brent Reservoir: Green Sand & juv. Yellow-legged Gull (Andrew Self).
  • Rainham RSPB: 7+ Greenshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Whimbrel, c25 Teal, 5 Shoveler, 8 Little Egret, 15 Common Terns (flew upriver) no sign of Spoonbill early morning (Paul Hawkins, David Bradnum).
  • Aldenham CP: Little Owl (Home Farm), 3 Common Tern, Grey Wagtail, 2 Chiffchaff, Ruddy Duck (m), 2 Mandarin, 5 House Martin, 8 Swallow (Steve Blake).

  • Clissold Park: adult Common Gull, 1 Blackcap, 4 Little Grebes (Mark Pearson)
  • Dagenham Chase: 1 Greenshank, 1 Greensandpiper, 3 Common Terns, 2 Teal (Paul Hawkins, Vince Halley-Frame).
  • Alexandra Park: Garden Warbler, first for the year! This brings the Park's yearly total to 102 (Andrew Gardener).

  • Walthamstow Res: 2 Little Egrets & 10 Common Sandpipers on Lockwood, 3 L.Whitethroats in near by scrub (J. Murray & C. Freddi); also ad Peregrine over Banbury Res, pm (David Callahan).
  • Rainham Marshes RSPB: juvenile Marsh Harrier (Birdguides).
  • Brent Reservoir: Oystercatcher flew over calling at 06.09 (Andrew Self).
  • St James's Park: 5 Egyptian Geese (not part of collection) at lunchtime (Andrew Self).

  • Wood Green (Clarendon Road): Common Tern over at 13.15hrs (Des McKenzie).
  • East India Dock Basin NR: 2 LRP, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Common Gulls, 1 brood Tufted Duck (4 Chicks), 1 Stock Dove, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff (Gary A James).
  • Dagenham Chase LNR: Moulting Male Common Redstart again on the Dick Marrable bee garden fence at 5.20 pm. Also 4 Green Sandpipers, 1 Greenshank and 1 Grey Wagtail on the Slack ( Vince Halley-Frame ).
  • Crossness: juv Yellow-legged Gull, 20+ Common Terns, 29 Lapwings, 3 Common Sandpipers, 2 Oystercatchers, 4 Swallows, 4 Sand Martins, 20 House Martins, 3 Teal (John Archer).
  • Paddington Green Area: local Herring Gull colony produced a total of seven young, all now on the wing, no young from Lesser Black-backed Gull pair (Des McKenzie).

  • Walthamstow Res: 178 Tufted Duck on No.5 res. Peregrine (prob ad. M.) sat on pylon at bottom of No.2 res. (Paul Whiteman)
  • Rainham Marshes RSPB: Spoonbill, also 2 juvenile Marsh Harriers flew through (Birdguides).
  • East India Dock Basin: at least one pair of Sand Martin confirmed as having bred in drainage hole (Nick Tanner per DMc).
  • East India Dock NR: 1 little Ringed Plover feeding on edge of smaller island 12:30(MGoodall)

  • Walthamstow Marshes: c50 Goldfinches, 4 Reed Buntings & 10 Linnets in one flock (growing by the day presently), 7 Common Whitethroats, 2 Blackcaps, c35 House Martins, 2 Common Terns, c200 Swifts; re: resourceful Sand Martins - two (possibly three) pairs successfully bred in drainage pipes on the canal by the southern bridge (Mark Pearson).
  • Geldeston Rd (near Stoke Newington Common): 1 Swallow north, 2 Holly Blues in the garden (Mark Pearson).
  • Dagenham Chase LNR: 1 Garden Warbler, 5 Lesser Whitethroats, 3 Green Sandpipers, 1 Greenshank and 5 Shoveler. No sign of Male Redstart today. ( Vince Halley-Frame ).
  • Regents Park: Pied Flycatcher, Sedge Warbler, 2 Willow Warbler, 3 Chiffchaffs, 6 Blackcaps, 2juv Reed Warblers, 28 Goldfinches, 2 Common Terns (Tony Duckett).
  • Paddington Green: c75 Swift moving south at 19.30hrs (Des McKenzie).
  • Alexandra Park: 36 Tufted Duck, Willow Warbler, 2 Little Grebes, 2 Common Tern (Bob Watts).
